I was never a fan of Torture Garden or Tales That Witness Madness though From Beyond The Grave is another quirky anthology film.

Asylum is another great anthology from Amicus, the only weak story in this is the Britt Ekland/Charlotte Rampling one imo.I'd love to see Robert Powell & Geoffrey Bayldon involved in a DVD release of this classic.

There's a nice release of Asylum in Anchor Bay's Amicus coffin box.

Apparently Bayldon was a late replacement for Spike Milligan who pulled out. That would have interesting to see.

Dark Sky's ASYLUM release on r1 is superb.
When it comes to the old anthologies,TALES FROM THE CRYPT is tops for me.
Cushing's turn as Grimsdyke in POETIC JUSTICE takes a bit of beating!
AND ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE is another classic entry.
You're right Vince.Torture Garden was bollocks, and the only letdown in the Amicus anthology canon.

Tales That Witness Madness is even worse than Torture Garden despite the great cast.

I liked both Tales From The Crypt and Vault Of Horror though the Michael Craig story in the latter was pretty pointless. Crypt wins out for me.

I didn't like the Bargain story that much. I think Arthur Mullard and the two berks from Doctor In The House ruined it a bit.

The Tom Baker story was my favourite, with the Terry Thomas segment close behind.
