Nightmare USA Films Discussion Thread
As recently discussed in the Shoutbox, how many of the films in Stephen Throwers' excellent Nightmare USA book (about to reprinted by Fab Press) have you seen or own? Take this quiz and post your results below and use this thread to discuss the Good, the Bad and the Shite from the list I've seen 110 so far, but I've got the reprinted book on pre-order, so as soon as it arrives in the next few weeks, I'm sure I'll be on a mission to seek out more! A fantastic book indeed. I was lucky to snag a copy of the hardcover version before it went oop. As briefly mentioned in The Shoutbox and in the 'What Have You Seen Recently' thread, I'm going to start trawling through all the films I'm yet to see (and a few more I want to check out again) and filling in the gaps. It all started late last night with Schoolgirls in Chains - I'll attempt to throw up some thoughts on this one later on. |

I missed out last time, so I've had to make do with a pdf version for ages, so imagine my excitement when I read it was being reprinted! There are some real turkeys on the list, but I'm sure each film will have it's fans, however small that number may be!

May as well be Rik. Ron likes them. Not sure if that's a recommendation or not. |

97 is my current total. Think i'm gonna have to get a copy of the book, some of these i've never heard of before. Most of the ones i've seen are the more easily available ones. Faves are 'Let's scare jessica to death' and 'Simon, king of the witches.' and 'I drink your blood.'from the more obscure ones. 'Alice sweet alice' is great too. Really like to see 'Eyes of fire' again, i used to have an old vhs of that and remember it being interesting. 'The Baby' is pretty bizarre too and a film i really enjoyed. 'Evil come, evil go' is pretty sleazy and enjoyable. I've got a soft spot for 'Ruby' because i remember seeing it on T.V a few times as a kid. Oh and i really liked 'Messiah of evil' too.

I admire any director who can get himself murdered and buried under his own bathroom. And if no respect s given to Big Al ill hijack this thread and turn into his shrine.
