Yeah, I think AAWIL narrowly clinches it. The Howling is great though I haven't seen any of the sequels... are any of them worth watching?

I liked Silver Bullet too reaps. Still need to get hold of a copy of that.

what do ppl think on the ginger snaps trilogy, i really like them
I've only seen the first Ginger Snaps, and didn't think it was that great - some nice ideas, but it didn't do much for me. Would you say the sequels are better?

I like them, seems a lot of people over here do because the Dutch dvd's are hard to get now...

If you didn't really like the first one,I suggest you give part 3 a spin.
It's a fun "normal" horror film.
Actually that was the first of the series I watched and I was impressed.

My favourite is AAWIL, that transformation is still one of the best special effect shots ever!

But as a kid I saw Company of Wolves, not realy knowing what to expect. Although I was scared stiff I had to keep on watching... giving me nightmares for a whole week

I realy should get a copy of that on dvd!

Of the older werewolf films,THE WOLF MAN and Hammer's CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF are classics.Ollie Reed was born to play the part of a full moon howler!

Another film which technically speaking isn't a werewolf film, but has all the vital ingredients and merits a mention is THE BEAST WITHIN.
Anyone else enjoy this flick from Phillipe Mora, who incidently directed a couple of HOWLING sequels.....

Yes I like Bad Moon too, underrated IMHO.

Which is the best - The Howling or An American Werewolf In London? - I just think it's great to have had two classic werewolf films to debate.

I like American Werewolf and The Howling, but I think I slightly prefer the werewolf transformation in The Howling to that of AAWIL.I like Rob Bottin's bladder FX work and all those snapping & popping sound FX, great stuff!
My fave werewolf flicks:
The Wolfman
Curse of the Werewolf
An American Werewolf in London
The Howling
Dog Soldiers
