I like discussing these lists, and as you say gag it's really interesting seeing what everyone likes and how they compare with your own list.

As for Aliens, I personally prefer the original mainly because I see it as being very creepy and suspenseful. I see Aliens as more of an action film with essences of horror thrown in - still like it though, but doubtful whether it would even feature in my Top 50...

I've found Rosemary's Baby to be a very love-it-or-hate-it when discussing it with others. I personally (as you can see) love it.

My list has definitely not always been the same, and has constantly changed as I've watched more and more films. Plus, I find you learn to appreciate some more than others over time and also you get sick of some too.

I'd be very interested in seeing your list gag, and would never judge it as everyone's different. For instance a friend on another forum posted their list and their top film was Zombie's Halloween 2; my reaction of course being: but if he likes it that much... fair-do's I guess!

The Wicker Man 1973 Robin Hardy
Suspiria 1977 Dario Argento
Down To The Cellar 1983 Jan Svankmajer
Peeping Tom 1960 Michael Powell
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 1974 Tobe Hooper
Night Of The Living Dead 1968 George A Romero
Videodrome 1983 David Cronenberg
Dracula 1958 Terence Fisher
Gojira 1954 Ishiro Honda
An impressive list there, Gojirosan. It's a near impossible task for me to determine a top ten, let alone my very favourite horror film - but I'll give it a shot. I'll limit it to one film per director.

Don't Look Now 1973 Nicolas Roeg
The Shining 1980 Stanley Kubrick
Dawn Of The Dead 1978 George A. Romero
Suspiria 1977 Dario Argento
The Tenant 1976 Roman Polanksi
Audition 1999 Takashi Miike
Evil Dead 2 1987 Sam Raimi
Eyes Without A Face 1960 Georges Franju
The Wicker Man 1973 Robin Hardy
The Brood 1979 David Cronenberg

The list just doesn't look right without Day Of The Dead (1985), The Beyond, Deep Red (Profondo Rosso), Eraserhead, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), The Exorcist, Alien, Repulsion, The Evil Dead - or 99 others!

[Thats the problem with these kind of things. My top 10 is always changing, the only films guaranteed to stay in it are The Beyond, Cannibal Holocaust and ZFE.

And yes there are several films that you become to appreciate over time. I didn't like ZFE the first 2 times I saw it and now, over 100 viewings later it is in my top 10.

If you reverse the order, they were numbers 11 and 12 for me!

I love it too, as I do Repulsion and The Tenant - my personal favourite of Polanksi's Apartment Trilogy.
