Die Screaming Marianne isn't the best place to start with a Walker marathon mate.
IMHO it's the weakest film in the box, perhaps in his whole career.

I picked up the video of Tiffany Jones a while back. Going to revisit it soon but I wasn't too impressed last time around.

Ain't seen that one Vince.
I really need to finish watching MAN OF VIOLENCE.
From what I've seen so far,it's a gritty little number.

The Cush never turned down Blood From The Mummy's Tomb and he actually filmed some sequences from it, there are some studio pics still in existence of him in the studio but I don't think any actual footage survives. He had to pull out when his wife either fell ill or died, I can't remember which.

I think Pete Walker is a very underrated director and all of his films (that I've seen at least) have something to recommend them. My fave is House of Mortal Sin, with Frightmare coming a close second. Sheila Keith must be one of the most menacing British actresses ever, and is someone who fully deserves far more recognition than she gets. While The Comeback loses itself a bit, the first murder is as good as anything else that Walker ever did.

Yes that's right. He withdrew from the film due to Helen's (fatal alas) illness in January 1971. He briefly alludes to it in his memoirs.

It must be safe to assume you have not seen Die Screaming Marianne then!

Goes downhill after a truly wonderful credits sequence.

If you don't find Ms Sourmush physically repulsive anyway! Like Vienna to Midge Ure, she does nothing to me.

Barry Evans in leather jeans! *shudder*

You assume correctly, DSM is one I have yet to see, but it is in the rather large pile of 'films not yet watched' looming over me as I type. I will make an effort to bump it to the top. I can only hope my newfound low expectation helps!

Die Screaming ain't a horror film anyway.
I'm sure I heard Walker admit himself,it wasn't what he intended to make.....

Man of Violence and Home Before Midnight are FAR superior.
