DVD & Blu Ray World Magazine

Does anyone buy this monthly Magazine. I used to buy Video World yrs ago and i still have a few copies. I have bought DVD & Blu Ray World for the last 6 mths and although i don't find it amazing value for money it can have the odd few articles and also monthly DVD every issue.

What are YOUR Thoughts on this Mag?

By the way the Current issue has 2/3 GREAT Adverts from Arrow Titles. FULL PAGES.

Free DVD is Night of the Hunted (Jean Rollin's) Starring Brigitte Lahaie

I saw this magazine in an awesome film shop in Covent Garden, was thinking of picking it up as it had a Blood Feast 2/ House by the Cemetary double presentation DVD with it.
Not bad for just £3.75 a month. I'm currently subscribed to Empire but this magazine is more along the lines of good horror and stuff which I'm much more in to.
I might subscribe on payday. Thanks for the heads up

Although Blood Feast 2 is free to view, some users have reported that to watch House By The Cemetery you have to text/phone a number and purchase a viewing code (for £5).

The same applied with their disc of Sleepless (free)/Day Of The Dead 2: Contagium (pay to view).

Be wary of these discs.

Oh dear, well at least Blood Feast 2 was free. Better than nothing. What a con though, that is rather cheeky. Looking at their back catalogue they've had some other good DVD's too.

I haven't bought any of these myself so I'm only going on feedback. The phrasing was very poor and misleading to say the least though.

Whether the policy has now changed I don't know. The current film is definitely free to view though.

Most of their dvds have been free, but yeah House by the Cemetery and Sleepless were pay to view.

Yes it's a good idea to be wary of these and check the small print first. At least the newspaper 2-on-1 promo discs definitely give you both films free. :ohwell:

Yeah very true about the Viewing code, But tbf they do have this displayed clearly on the Magazine & DVD cover. Most are available free though its only 2 out of the last 6 issues i have that have done this.

Like i said though its not a great magazine but with a DVD free its not a total rip off, and it can give you some decent reviews. I guess its down to individual opinion & Choice at the end of the day. Guess you could say its like Marmite some will love, some will hate it...

And besides, back when it was DVD World they'd normally give you an 18 rated porno as the free disc! ha ha. They've come along way since then!
