Nice to see you managed to plug the Wicker Man in this thread.
I know much is set outdoors, but its not really the same as the other films mentioned.
It is in a sense that Summerisle isn't a place you'd want to find yourself.

Frogs is more of a Monster Movie. Just like Jaws, King Kong, Godzilla/Gojira, Jurassic Park, Tarantula, The Creature From Black Lagoon, Them! etc...

I guess all that stuff happens in the outdoors so maybe Monster Movies and The Not So Great Outdoors are one in the same?

In that case I can think of a tone of films!

Tremors, Gremlins, It Came From Beneath The Sea, Alien, The Host and many many more!

By the way, who's seen Piranha 3D?
Is it worth watching?
To me it looked super boring but i'd probably watch it one day just for Eli Roth and Christopher Lloyd because they're both great.
It'd also be cool to see Steve McQeen's grandson!

A lot of great classics got already mentioned, so I throw a modern contribution into the mix, which is as downbeat and gory as you can get with a fairly likeable cast of youngsters in the backwoods: "Carver".

Other personal faves include the original "Mother's Day" and "The Blairwitch Project", the latter being the film which ruined the idea of camping outdoors for me finally - for life!

I picked up a (rightly) forgotten late 80's slasher Berserker: The Nordic Curse yesterday, great premise but sadly too much walking around in the dark and not enough slashing. However there was one great scene that made sitting through all the filler worthwhile.

*Spoiler*

A grizzly bear attacks the killer, to the great delight of a (would be victim) teen, who gleefully cheers it on.

Some of my favourites are -

Hitcher

Open Water

Manhunt

Brilliant Aussie film Gone

Squirm

Paradise Lost aka Turistas

Wrong Turn and it's sequals (not so keen on the sequals, though)

This one is in my 'too watch' pile, but sounds like it would fit the bill. King of the Hill

And last but not least, the brilliant Sleepaway Camp films

Oh man, I love The Hitcher and Manhunt.

Paradise Lost and King Of The Hill both look pretty awesome. Definitely will be checking those out, Thanks Dream Demon.
