Bless you Bizarre eye.

Never seen Perfume ..... before and each time i have looked on Amazon, it has been in Italian only or at a ridiculous price.

Just looked now - £7.99 plus postage from Raro USA

No problem.

I have the Raro release too - it's the only English language friendly release of the film available on DVD as far as I am aware.

I think that's a great film and one of my favourites of the first 20 Shameless films. It is a weird mystery drama with loads of atmosphere, tension and is occasionally really creepy. Florinda Bolkan is superb and she has excellent support from Nicoletta Elmi (from Deep Red, Flesh for Frankenstein and Demons).

Order placed for footprints. Also started my free amazon prime trial, so will put it to good use, although last time I used the trial, nothing I ordered came the next day, so I won't be wasting my cash on renewing a subscription. With all this expenditure, the job interview I've had confirmed to day is doubly good news

Yea it was fun, (Although my head was spinning what with all the twists.) love the way it just starts with the title card and then the OTT voice overs on the opening titles.

Hmmm I wonder what inspired the director to use such imagery.

I adore Perfume. Also Short Night Of Glass Dolls is a good 'un, love the way you pick up on things second time round.

Glad you enjoyed In the Folds of the Flesh. It is very twist heavy, but still doesn't disappoint on repeat viewings.

Short Night of Glass Dolls is a funny one, mesmerising in some respects, and as you say, you do pick up more on repeat viewings. I actually enjoyed it more the second time around, mainly because I was trying to actively look for clues and information rather than just following the story the first time around!

I'd love a remake with a more focused sci-fi writing, if only for the challenge!, as long as the music is the 80s versions. Not any of that Justice-Phantom unmusical remix crap. Argento was thinking desolate cityscapes, which are implied by the choices of locations. Like the almost empty road in the beginning, the dialogues happening in small contained spaces or temporary spaces like the carpark, the running through the forest etc. But it does seem that he tried to give this reading after the finished film to be honest.

I have watched 95% of the giallos ever avaliable on DVD and i thought "The red queen kills seven times" is indeed one of the most representative as someone said. I don't mean best. But if you round them all together, it's got most of the traits of the genre. Long title that gives away too much, beautiful women, high fashion, music that screams 70s European cinema, over-the-top ways of killing (embalmed on a fence, anyone?) complex family relationships, silly ending etc etc! Love it!
