Oh, it is -- I can vouch for that from personal experience!

Seven Deaths in the Cats Eye.

A great mix of Giallo and Hammer.

I also love The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave, i suppose this also is a Hammer style Giallo also.

The long list of things to watch begins! Very interested giallo with a gothic vibe to them, so any other recommendations are appreciated. I may have to set up a theatre room in the spare room as my partner can only take so much bad dubbing, and over the top plotting.

My favourite giallo is a pretty well-known title that I'm sure most people have seen, I'm afraid. As my avatar strongly hints at, it is Tenebrae.

Even though generally, I would take '70s gialli over '80s any day of the week, I love the clash of violence, mystery, and mayhem which Argento brings with Tenebrae.

Other favourites include Lenzi's superb Seven Blood Stained Orchids (possibly my favourite non-Argento giallo), In the Folds of the Flesh (very bizarre psychedelic giallo directed by Sergio Bergonzelli) and Spanish 'giallo' Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll starring the late, great Paul Naschy.

Plus, like Beyond72 I'm also a huge fan of The Red Queen Kills Seven Times.

I own Seven Bloodstained Orchids, but that's still three more titles for the wishlist!

3 more for mine there. Love Tenebrae, and can't wait for new arrow release. I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I'd love to see a modern day remake incorporating some of the sci fi elements intended by Argento that never seem to come through at all, just to add to the lunacy.

Not sure i would recomend In the Folds of the Flesh for any Giallo novices, may put them off for good.

Possibly not for novices, but it certainly is not easily forgotten once seen.

Unconvential and bizarre, it definitely puts a creative spin on the conventional giallo formula. Pet vultures, Nazi flashbacks, odd sexual relationships all abound in this one!

Not a fan then, Demdike?

Sounds good to me! Maybe it should go on the Shameless Suggestions thread?

Forbidden Photo's of a Lady above Suspicion

The Case of the Scorpions Tale

French Sex Murders

Death Walks at Midnight

Who Saw Her Die

The Black Belly of the Tarantula
