Default TOWER OF EVIL aka HORROR ON SNAPE ISLAND Jim O'Connolly 1972

Another little British gem which is criminally neglected when it comes to DVD releases.

And a right brutal bastard this relatively obscure shocker is!
Atmosphere, violence, nudity and a glut of British character actors make this one a winner.

Veterans of many a UK production such as Jack Watson,Jill Haworth and Robin Askwith grace the screen in this one, which for a low budget film, pretty much ticks all the required boxes.

Anyone agree?

Think this is one for a BD upgrade?

Same one I own B!
Don't know what the UK disc is like.

I think there also may have been an Aussie disc.

Where did you first see the movie mate?

Must've been the old Vipco tape or the Sattanica tape.
I had both, and as I recall both had excellent artwork!

Like this one a lot - a really underrated gem of a film that's crying out for a decent DVD release.

If this were to be released on Blu I'd snap it up in an instant, although the prints I've seen haven't looked too fantastic, which could be a problem when constructing a decent HD master.

The script is pretty silly, but TOE delivers some chills, plus some good gory set-pieces. It's also got a surprising amount of nudity for a Brit film of its time.

Here's the trailer to inspire the uniniatiated to check out this 1972 British classic:

I've only seen this once, years ago on TV and remember it being much better than the reviews I'd read of it. If I remember correctly the print shown on telly was really dark and quite distracting at times.

The Elite dvd is a big improvement MTDS.

Anyone own the UK disc?

I love this film, even with Robin Askwith's American accent!
If it ever gets a decent release I'll ave it!

Another one I've not seen but definitely looks like my cup of tea.

Gonna add it to my ever increasing list of wants.
