With all the "unrated" releases Sony is churming out, I wonder what is holding them back from giving us the full "8mm"? That would finally be a worthwhile extended edition!

I know its not a sickening film, but 8mm takes me into a world I dont wanna be in but takes me safely out again , a bit to quickly to be harrowing imo.
Had the director keep the viewer in the wold of smut peddlers and extreme porn for the whole film I think it would have been one of the most horrowing films ever made. As we know that world we're being brought into is part of our world.
If you liked (were disturbed by) 8mm, then I'd highly recommend seeking out the Spanish film Tesis. Another film about the making of snuff flicks and is very harrowing stuff - well worth tracking down a copy, if you can.

Mute Witness was also another film that took a stab at this subject matter, but it tended to descend into a formulaic stalk and slash flick - but the opening scenes are terrific.

Oh yes, I'd definitely revisit this if a director's cut ever emerged. Let's hope it does one day!

Cheers D, hadn't heard of that one.
Am trying to get Snuf 102 but it dosent seem to be out anywhere on DVD.

Hardcore is another old, but good snuff thriller. Very downbeat.

Anyone believe they exsist on a comerical basis, ie filmed, packaged and distriubeted in certain contries.?
All books claim none that fit that discription has ever been found , and personality I dont believe they exist as a mass produced item, but as Porn becomes more violent then you might see them crop up in the future.
God I hope im wrong on that though, how sick would that be to pay to watch someone die, slowly.

Oh yes, for its time, Hardcore is a very brave movie. When I first saw it I found it harrowing and shocking! Now, of course, we've seen far worse since - but it's still a very powerful movie.

Killing for Culture by Kerekes and Slater is a fantastic read - check which edition you're getting though, as it's the second updated reprinting which is the one to look for.

I'd also recommend their other book - See No Evil. A superb book chronicling the Video Nasties era. Brilliant stuff - indispensable.

There has been violent porn around for ages (decades) more mainstream porn has become a bit rougher but I wouldn't say violent.

I think there's a vast difference between violent porn,(including penetration with needles, sewing, electricity etc) and snuff.

I don't think one would lead to the other, any more than someone playing a serial killer is a short move away from being a serial killer.

Oh and Mute Witness is great, I was on the edge of my seat. I finally bought it on dvd giving up hope of a more special release.

Mine was bought of the sales guys suitcase in the early/mid 90's as he tried to get Belfast shops to stock it.

I dont mean Violent Porn will lead to Snuff Sic, What I ment was , as ordinary porn becomes more violent by demand, them the Violent porn with studded dildo's on drills ( Born to be wild ) will be not enough to satisfy a small percent and they'll go looking for snuff.

Though im sure you'd have to view many well made fakes before ( IF EVER) you got to see the real deal.

David Defalco's CHAOS.

Anyone else seen this. It's certainly a very disturbing film.

Surprisingly Zone Horror are showing it. Surely not uncut?
