Vacancy (2007) is another horror film with a snuff theme.

However you should be warned that it went out with a 15 rating...

Still it's a reasonably entertaining film.

Yeah it is. I quite enjoyed that. It was interesting to see how it handled the snuff theme without going into extreme territory. It was quite tense in parts aswell.

Has anyone seen Bernard Rose's 'Snuff Movie'? I bought it a while back but haven't watched it yet.

You should enjoy it Hal , it's pretty good and thought provoking.

Have you heard of those Squish or Squash films were a girl comes on screen with little clothes on and long stileto's , and puts a paper bag on the ground with a kitten inside, then repeatedly stomps on the kitten in the bag with the long stileto's on.

A pub landlord in England was done in court a while back for showing one with a girl dressed as a nurse doing it to a kitten , at an after hours party at his pub.
English police have found a few of these tapes in different areas . Some tapes had tortoises or birds in the bag.
Bunch a sick ****s.
Somebody should beat them all with a baseball bat. What sortta people are they,? Scum bags.

Please Pardon My Language.

Spoiler aleart for anyone who's not seen this***

I really enjoyed Vacancy. The snuff plot is only really a back element to the story - once the couple realise what's happening it become more of a run of the mill 'people in peril' redneck stalker.

The scenes where they discover what's been happening are very creepy though - wathcing what they think are some ultra violent videos someone's left in the room only to suddenly realise that the videos are shot in the room they're sat in...

It's worth a watch.

Yeah, I have heard of those before Vip's. Didnt realise there were any actual cases of it happening, figured it was probably just another urban legend. That's pretty messed up.

Cheers, I'll try and get round to watching Snuff Movie this week, been meaning to for ages but you know what its like once you get behind on film watching, they just keep building up and you cant seem to get up to date.

Another film i've always been interested to see is 'Guinea Pig 2: Flowers of Flesh and Blood'. I believe its the film Charlie Sheen handed over to the FBI thinking it was a real snuff movie lol.

Thats right Hal, Killing for Culture covers that story.

Flowers I thought has pretty good effects , but theres no story as such, just torture.

There was another Asian film which was on the double header bootleg tape I had with Flowers on that I found more disturbing but there was no Tittle on it so I dont remember its name.
Its been about 10 years from i've watched 'Flowers' as I did'nt like it. Not because of the content but with no real story I found it boring, like why was the torturer dressed as a Samurai.? Why was he doing it,? etc It was hard to be disturbed when the only background knowledge is a a rather fake looking abduction which imo killed any doubts that what your watching is real.
Though if its a well done gore fest you want this film is definetly ticks that box.

Anyone heard of The Poughkeepsie Tapes or know if it's available anywhere as I'd really like to see it. Sounds like an interesting serial killer/ snuff type film.

Also, this week I ordered the two Amateur Porn Star Killer films as I was recommended them and thought they looked OK. Apparantly they take a more psychological approach to torture as opposed to all out gore so should be interesting to see how it works.

I was afraid of that, I'd read mixed reviews about it but thought I'd give it a shot. Hopefully the second one'll be better.
