SHE KILLED IN ECSTASY
VAMPYROS LESBOS

You need some Soledad in your collection.

PAULA-PAULA is pretty good if you fancy non-narrative, experimental weirdness.

Starting a Jess Franco collection

ILSA - THE WICKED WARDEN though not an official entry in the series is still good, but avoid the heavily cut UKR2
FACELESS is imo one of his best films, I have the R1 w/good extras
I'm still trying to find THE AWFUL DR. ORLOF at a good price
BARBED WIRE DOLLS is a typical WIP sleazy fun film
I saw UK dvd JACK THE RIPPER years ago and laughable at the terrible dubbing with Kinski sounding posh if I recall
TENDER FLESH/LUST FOR FRANKENSTEIN are crazy SOV films with some good scenes but not among his best

The UK dvd has the german soundtrack on it as well. It provides a MUCH better experience.

Some of my favorites (from what I've watched):

Awful Dr. Orlof, The
Attack of the Robots (No official English friendly dvd)
Erotic Rites of Frankenstein, The (erotic version)
Eugenie... The Story of Her Journey into Perversion
Female Vampire
Virgin Among the Living Dead, A
Demons, The
Sadistic Baron Von Klaus, The
Succubus
Venus in Furs
Lucky The Inscrutable (No official dvd)
Greta the Torturer/Mad Butcher/Sadist aka Ilsa, The Wicked Warden

I can definitely recommend Kiss Me Monster; great kitschy fun imho. You should be able to pick it up cheaply on Amazon, too. Sadly, many of the other UK Franco releases seem to be heavily cut. I have always had a soft spot for Vampyros Lesbos, as this was my first exposure to both Jess Franco and Euro-sleaze in general as a teenager.

that I owned at the time

Why, is it one of his worst?

Today, from Amazon, my Jess Franco Boxset collection 1 arrived.

I really like the presentation. Mostly black, with a little bit of gold.

I had put off buying this, due to not wanting to encourage the censorship of films in Britain. But recently I thought, I could get this and buy uncut versions of individual dvds as well.

Now, I'm going to get the individual, uncut versions of the films which are cut in the boxset.

Aw, (sigh) it never ends being a film collector.
