Watched Mad Mad Ghost, which has Lam Ching-Ying and some ghosts but is basically more of a comedy and pits our beloved Taoist (and his disciples) against 2 British treasure hunter baddies!

I actually thought this one was rather charming...not scary or creepy though.

Just finished watching The Dead and the Deadly.
More of chopsocky flick with some action/revenge/comedic/supernatural shenanigans.
A ghost enlists his friend to take revenge basically but it's more complicated than that.
Lam Ching-Ying is great as an elderly taoist btw.

Overall I wouldn't recommend this if you're looking for a "real" HK horror but it's still a fun watch.

Finished watching Untold Story 2 (1997) and though not a real horror film it's a very dark Cat III thriller.
Only a sequel by name really but it does feature Anthony Wong,a restaurant and cannibalism!
This reminded me a lot of Intruder (1998) btw.
A very good Cat III offering imho that deserves the same status as a film like Red To Kill in my book.

Agreed and i recall enjoying the film too when Channel 4 screened it years ago. The part where the ghostly husband strides past his still-living wife and gives her a swift slap is class! "Bitch!"
