Greatest Airplane Horror Films
With only a few weeks until Airborne is out on DVD, it's time to tuck into some the annals of horror cinema for a discussion about airplane horrors! The sun's shining and I'm sure many of you will be jetting off to some far off land, traveling by flight. Well, here's a thread to discuss the films that may not be best to watch during your in-flight movie choice. Set in an inescapable claustrophobic room and coupled with the fact that lots of people fear flying, it's no wonder that horrors sent on board one of these flying giants are so popular! But what are your all time favourite Airplane themed horror films? I've added a few obvious choices above to vote upon- but feel free to discuss your other favs below... Airborne is out on DVD on the 30th July - grab yours in time for your holidays!

I still have a soft spot for Langoliers, even if when they turn up in the film they look like the graphics used in catchphrase. What's mr chips doing? |

90210/The OC/One Tree Hill style acting aside, Altitude was a wonderful unexpected gem.

Would'nt mind seeing a DVD release of this one as i only ever recall William Shatner in the film and the plot having something to do with some sacred stone monolith or another causing chaos from the cargo bay. Fantastic title but an average film imo.

That's not saying much, though! My favourite from the list is easily The Twilight Zone's Nightmare At 20,000 Feet, which has been parodied to death over the years. Aside from the ones I haven't seen, the other choices range from 'okay' to 'terrible'. It seems like the 'horror on an airplane' sub-genre remains pretty untapped. |
