I thought i'd seen him drumming for Imelda May.

I think Brotherhood of the Wolf is a terrific take on the werewolf genre.

An American Werewolf In London and The Howling, both classics.

How about WEREWOLF WOMAN for some sleazy shit? The lycanthropy in this one is more an 'in yer head' thing, granted. But staying with the sleaze, WEREWOLF IN A WOMEN'S PRISON, anyone? EYES OF THE WEREWOLF by the same director is another worthwhile microbudget were-horror.

For me it is still The Howling. Perfect blend of humor and scares, IMHO. And biped werewolves, you have to have biped werewolves

I like Werewolf in a Women's Prison a lot, though I don't much care for Eyes of the werewolf (that one was too much bottom of the barrel for me). Quite liked Audie & the Wolf too (probably because the premisse of a wolf turning into a man during the full moon reminded me so much of the novel Howling Mad, though they're two totally different stories).

I always thought the 1956 film The Werewolf was pretty good, it tries something a bit different with the werewolf mythos:

Timo Rose's BEAST was okay from what I remember, in it's endless mix of gore, splatter and comedy.

Haven't checked that one out yet, but I was quite disappointed with his Space Wolf. It seemed to drag and drag without ending...

What, no love for The Boy Who Cried Werewolf 1973? (amazingly remade in 2010 with Brooke Shields!!)
Along with Werewolf of Washington, Werewolf of Woodstock and Werewolves on Wheels, the early 70's were a weird time for american werewolf movies.
