Ginger Snaps and its first sequel are probably the best, with Wolfen snapping very close at their paws... Worst, a dead heat between Silver Bullet and The Werewolf And The Yeti...though Underworld and Van Helsing are both truly awful too. Obscure recommendations? Er...Werewolves On Wheels...Werewolf Of Washington...John Brahm's The Undying Monster...actually none of those are especially obscure...sorry! |

What's Werewolf Of Washington like Goj? Are you a fan of the old Universal Wolfman films?

I do like the Universal flicks, but think they have held up least well to aging of all the Universal monsters. I rewatched The Wolfman recently and was almost disappointed by it. It was pretty clunky and badly acted compared to the stylish flair of the Drac and Frank films. I HATED Van Helsing! I can't stand slick, Hollywood kiddie "horror" like that! Haha. Also, Hugh Jackman is just awful! |

I didn't rate it. It was technically impressive, but really boring and Anthony Hopkins was embarrassingly bad, as usual. It's a rare film he cannot ruin with his over-acting, scenery-chewing selfishness.

Each to their own Mark. I'm pretty 50/50 on The Wolf Man. It had so many great things in it, but for me it didn't gel together that well. With all the problems that Universal had making it, it's clear to see how this affected the film. Mind you, I did enjoy it when I saw it
