Default Ritualistic Horrors

Murderous cults, shocking sacrifices and horrifying rituals have long since been the stuff of nightmares. It’s no surprise then, that the horror genre is teeming with blood-curding paganistic imagery. With the upcoming release of Anchor Bay’s The Wicker Tree Blu-Ray and DVD, a blackly comic and terrifying sequel to the British classic The Wicker Man, what better time then now to have a run down of cinema’s greatest Pagan-themed horror films. So, cover yourself in goats blood and prepare for a list of unspeakable horror…

Here's a thread to discuss all things Pagan or ritual Horror. What are your favourite pagan themed horror films? What about films with a killer cult; cannibals, suicides, etc.

Take a look at this blog for a run down of 5 of the best - http://www.cult-labs.com/blog/2012/0...istic-horrors/

And share your own thoughts here...

Anchor Bay's The Wicker Tree is out on DVD and Blu-Ray on 30th April. Pre-order yours here (DVD) or (Blu-Ray)

Your list includes one of my personal favourites - To The Devil A Daughter.

Lee, Widmark, and a nude 16-year-old Nastassja Kinski.

A very fine film!

Greetings!

OH.

DEAR.

GOD!

That's one of my favourite films of all time. The trailer is easily the best ever made.

It's not ranked, so it doesn't count!

In other news: I suck at reading.

A real gem of a film that's desperately in need of a UK release.

Amen! If only Arrow could release this film with I Eat Your Skin - I'd snap that up in a second!
