Default SEEN ANY BRITISH GEMS RECENTLY?

Anyone seen any lost or forgotten British gems lately?

For instance,I watched THE NIGHT DIGGER the other night.
With a cast that includes Nicolas Clay and Patricia Neal,a script by Road Dahl and score by Bernard Herrmann anyone who likes movies of the PEEPING TOM or TWISTED NERVE ilk will love this.
Warner have,as usual did a nice transfer job for a film this age.
Highly recommended.

Now what else you all saw??

Best one I've seen recently was Satan's Slave, very cool! Thinking of getting Twisted Nerve, any good?

I've still to watch my Katarina's disc of Satan's Slave.
TWISTED NERVE is excellent!

So much so Tarantino nicked it's Bernard Herrmann whistle for KILL BILL.

Deadly Strangers with Simon Ward and Hayley Mills and directed by the great Sidney Hayers. A cracking Brit psychological thriller that is waaaaay overdue for a legit DVD release.

The U.K release of twisted nerve looks fantastic, its well worth picking up imo.

Does Bunny lake is missing count? I'm fairly certain its an american production, but its shot in the uk. Brilliant bit of filmmaking.

Good film.

And don't forget "Seance on a Wet Afternoon". Maybe it's not a 'forgotten' film, but it's a classic nevertheless

One of the best British cult films ever, has to be the brilliantly weird biker/horror flick PSYCHOMANIA with Beryl Reid as a Satanic-worshipping granny trying to stop her biker-mad son from being a bad boy.

The bike chase around the town, where the bike gang terrorise the locals, is hilarious, as is the scene where the head biker (is his name Tom, as I can't recall?) is reborn, and leaps out of the grave, on his motorbike!

Fantastic film, and highly underrated! A classic of British cinema!

Liked the low budget thing i watched a while back, Lie Still/The Haunting of No 24, decent enough chiller etc. Also found a vanilla Paperhouse in the-shop-with-the-dog recently, and while it wasn't that great, i always thought it had some decent imagery in it.
Straight Through Til Morning i'd also stick in, as it has a fair amount of the old tension in it, even if Rita T's wig lets it down

Haven't seen Deadly Strangers in YEARS, maybe this is what Arrow should be putting out instead of things that are already available cough cough

'C'mon....let's blow their minds!'

Brilliant film. Shame the Blu never appeared because Severin (I think?) couldn't find good enough materials. Let's hope a decent negative turns up one day and we'll all get the release this film richly deserves.

In a similar vein, the UK needs a good release of Horror Express too.
