Just adding to Daemonia's post.

The McGann movie is part of the official Doctor Who series, as he regenerated during the piece after previous Doctor Sylvester McCoy was shot in a gangland shootout about 15 minutes in.

The Cushing movies are remakes of tv stories and were licensed out to Amicus to make into feature films.

Once you have watched the two Dalek movies you can move onto collecting the BBC tv series dvd's.
