I'm going to cry i think.

All these people who have never seen a Jess Franco film is quite upsetting.

Just checked out Franco's filmography on IMDb, turns out I have seen some of his films just never realised it. I've seen his Fu Manchu films with Christopher Lee , Dracula vs Frankenstein and Jack the Ripper. I think I was getting him confused with Jean Rollin

This is getting even worse now.

People have never seen one of Rollins works of glorious gothic beauty.

Rollin and Franco are an acquired taste I reckon.

I always used to pick up a Rollin film in HMV.
He's did that bloody many, you're guaranteed to find one you don't have!

The Female Vampire and Venus in Furs are his finest hours IMO.

My favourite Jean Rollin films so far: Fascination, The Grapes of Death, and The Nude Vampire.

Greetings!

You should check out The Iron Rose, Prince: One of my favourite Rollin films.

As for unseen cult classics, I'm not really sure... it depends on what you consider 'cult' and a 'classic', I suppose.

Not being a big war film fan, I've never seen Badlands or Paths of Glory. I'm also not a fan of Westerns, and aside form a few basics (Django, The Dollars Trilogy, The Great Silence, Once Upon a Time in the West), I haven't seen much else from the genre.

As for horror, I'm trying to think if I have any major gaps... I may have to come back to this after I've had a think!

You did once say there were a lot of forties films you hadn't seen. You have been watching quite a few recently though.

.............

I've never seen 2001 in full. I've tried it a couple of times but never really got past the forty minute mark.

You're in luck then as Badlands is far from a war film and is absolutely brilliant!

Yes! Before I started my horror marathon for October, I was watching a fair amount of '40s and early '50s films. There are still a lot I want to see, but I definitely feel like I've 'plugged a hole' in my film knowledge in a lot of ways.

One of my all time favourites, but I understand it's not to everyone's taste.
