[QUOTE=Daemonia;228844]Sudden Impact (1983)

Thought I'd delve into the Dirty Harry BD set again and this time around Harry's sent to a remote coastal town to investigate a murder - and to keep him out of the way. But before long another murder occurs where he's been relocated to - with the same M.O. So he starts digging deeper and uncovers a revenge plot, whereby a young woman is taking revenge on her rapists of long ago. Bit of a drop in quality on this one, I thought. It was made at the time when he was married to Sondra Locke and she's seemingly in every film Clint made during this period. Not bad overall, but it's a bit of a weak entry.

I think SUDDEN IMPACT is the best in the series
oh...he wasn't married to Sondra Locke!

Always thought it was quite weird that Clint directed three films in which Locke is raped! Not quite sure what that says about their relationship but I'm sure Freud would have had a field day.

Last movie I watched was "Deep End" on film4.

Typically 70's British cult 'classic'. Moved pretty slow, but stayed with me for the next few days.

Just watched ZAAT.

God help me I really enjoyed that movie.

It's overlong, the acting is uniformly dreadful, theres casual racism and the monster suit makes slithis look like an academy award nominee....

but its a colorful looking movie with plenty of charm (and by god it needs it!) and it looks great on blu-ray.

On previous viewings I've always found it a decent enough watch, but having the watched the whole Harry saga in quick succession, it becomes apparent it is a lesser sequel. It's still not a bad film and though and I still enjoyed it.

And my mistake, I thought Locke was married to Clint.

Paul: yeah, it is a bit weird that Locke gets raped in so many of Clint's movies. Bit like Daria Nicolodi always getting brutally killed in Argento's films. Except for Mother of Tears, where she's a ghost. Is that Dario's way of saying that Daria still haunts him?

Haha! Let's not even go there with Argento and what he put Asia through in Stendhal Syndrome!

Haha - no, let's not. That's really getting into the arena of the weird. I still can't figure out what father would cast his daughter in such a role. Those crazy Italians!
