On the subject of underage films and Sudden Impact, I think I mentioned this before but I actually saw if about five times when I was 15 because I was working at the local ABC collecting tickets during summer and used to sit in the screen ready with my torch for any latecomers.

Dark Water is a great film – better than Ringu in some respects. Hideo Nakata really knows how to put the audience through the ringer with creeping dread and emotional mother-child relationships which really tear at your heartstrings.

Pirates! In an adventure with scientists!
Nice, clean, family fun with some truely stand out moments. Not going to replace Wallace and Gromit anytime soon but it's got the given Ardman charm.

Dark Waters is more mature than Ringu in terms of directing and storywise.Ringu is pure j-horror and was made to scare people,on the other hand, Dark Waters is also a j-horror but also a very good drama.

I avoided that this week as it's the school holidays, but will watch it next week when cinemas aren't so busy.

I did go and see The Hunger Games which, as I expected, was Battle Royale for younger teenagers, with bits of Romeo and Juliet and even The Truman Show thrown in. It's completely predictable and you don't really care about any of the characters so I don't know why it's become this box office phenomenon.
