Cooler Than Cushing???

5 Attachment(s)
Just for fun.

Peter Cushing is surely the coolest actor to walk the earth.

He's the guy who always vanquishes histories greatest Vampire.

When he's fed up doing that he plays the creator of the second greatest horror creation - Baron Frankenstein.

He's played arguably the greatest sci-fi hero of them all in two films AND defeated probably the greatest sci-fi monster. TWICE!!!.

He made the role of fiction's greatest detective all his own on more than one occassion.

Finally, he's the only man who could call Darth Vader his bitch.

So come on,

IS THERE ANYONE COOLER THAN CUSHING?????

We await your nominations.

I'm sorry, but although Mr. Cushing is a legend he has one Kryptonite.
Morecambe & Wise still in debt - YouTube

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 21st March 2013 07:12 PM

True Dem,there ain't much cooler.
Not even the great Lord Summerisle!

Even in Hammer's Dracula series.
Now,don't get me wrong,Sir C.Lee is the ultimate Dracula, but it was always Cushing who stole the show as the borderline psychotic Van Helsing.
He just didn't give a **** who got in his way!

In the Frankenstein series,it didn't matter what the creature looked like,it was always how dastardly and nasty a bastard the Baron was.
Once again,he stomped anyone who got in his way!

Govenor Tarkin was a descendant of the Baron and the Professor.
Once again he stomped Alderann!

The list is long and distinguishable, even in a mediocre movie the legendary Cushing made it far more interesting.

ALL HAIL THE BARON!

Has this been brought on by that pic I posted earlier?

The answer is no, he is without a shadow of doubt THE coolest actor ever!

Simply because it stars Cushing, i picked up The Blood Beast Terror today in HMV which worked out at £10 in the buy one get one free offer.
Will watch anything this guy stars in. Brilliant actor.

Peter Cushing was a fantastic actor who will always be held in the highest regards by horror fans of a certain age (and hopefully in the future).I would have loved to have met him while he was still alive to tell him how much I enjoyed his film roles. He was indeed very cool.

Peter Cushing does not, and never has, worn woman's underwear!

Of course he did. It's a well know fact that he wore them and stockng/suspenders under his uniform on Star Wars, and he was also know on set as Camp Cushing. It's true!

Personally, I'd have thought that stockings and suspenders WERE woman's underwear!

But, what would I know about these things????

That you offended yet again at the smallest thing? Like children, women should be seen, and not heard. ;)

Three way tie between said two and The Eastwood for me. God, get them all in a film together! I don't care what the medical bills would be in order to pay for Cushings resurection!

I might have said that once upon a time, as a young lad. But over time, as I've seen more of their respective work, Cushing always beats out Lee for me. Especially the way in recent years that Lee has gone on record trashing Hammer films - the company that effectively made him a star. He lacks Cushings' humility in that regard. Cushing never disowned his films and he really did enjoy being a horror star.

I think i have to say, Vincent Price but Peter Cushing is a very close second. Cushing just has this conviction about him that makes him so cool in anything he does.

nosferatu42 27th April 2014 10:35 PM

Always prefered Cushing to Lee, Cushing always gives a fine performance whatever the material whereas Lee wouldn't even say the lines if they didn't agree with him, take the later Dracula films for example.
I like Lee and he's made some great films but he is a bit up himself.

My other absolute favourite is Boris Karloff, another actor who would always give a great performance.
Vincent Price is great but is sometimes a little too over the top.
Peter Lorre was great in M and Mad Love.

I love Donald Pleasance as well, great actor in general and should have done even more horror.
Lugosi had his moments too but kind of shot himself in the foot by doing so many bad films. Same with Lon chaney Jr.(lived under the shadow of his old man).:pop2:

On the female front it's Barbara Steele all the way for me.:)

Nobody is cooler than Peter Cushing.

Nobody.

Not even Clint.

Peter would wipe the floor with Clint and then wring him out in a bucket.

Peter Cushing's blue plaque, found on a house in St James' Road, Purley

This is about 10 minutes walk from where we're staying, but unfortunately the house with the plaque is at the top of a very steep hill, so I don't think I will be making a regular pilgrimage!

Always felt with Peter Cushing when he was playing sinister parts his eyes were always the main part of the persona of the character which made him more villainous.

Demoncrat 9th November 2019 10:39 PM

 Watched Night Of The Big Heat with PC in the petite but lovely role as Dr Stone. A fetid little flick and no mistake. Yes, it's a bit threadbare in places ... like that old teddy bear. Ahem. Bashful Demon:lol:
But there he is, propping up the bar like a good un. Well tis warmer than normal don't you know??

Must reperuse Island Of Terror methinks ;)

Indeed R.
He never let us down. And him wandering through the curtain with Morecambe & Wise was another treasured childhood memory. Ahem.
