Nightmare Castle - The Barbara Steele Thread.

I first saw this film in the Mill Creek 50 Horror film set. So the film stood out to me, I watched it in bed one night and I enjoyed its creepy atmosphere and Barbra Steele made a brilliant performance.

So I was wondering what are your thoughts on the film?

Italy+Barbara Steele+1960s= goodness, I like all the Freda, Bava and Margheriti films she did, look the rest of em up BOF, you won't be disappointed if you like NC.

I keep meaning to pick up the Severin dvd of this as its a restored gorgeous print. I'm just so familiar with it as it seems to appear on every Mill Creek set i buy that i never get on with it.

It was Nightmare Castle that introduced me to Barbra Steele

BARBARA STEELE, Euro gothic goddess, enough reason to watch this movie.

I originally thought she was a low budget film star and all she was in was low budget films, I didn't know she was a mega star of horror

Had a quick search and we don't seem to have a thread dedicated to this lovely queen of the macabre. So with a bit of title editing - We do now.
