Agree wholeheartedly about TP. Scary, funny, silly and just plain strange...nowt like it since!!!

AAnyway...mate borrowed The Straight Story. Loved it.
Of course he did. in many ways I think it is the quintessential Lynch film, but then I'm an awkward b*gger at the best of times haha....

He hasn't seen Inland Empire either....and it's about time I watched it again (evil cackle etc).......

I watched Mulholland Drive again recently - it really does fit together perfectly, aside from some weird flourishes (mainly grotesque Hollywood caricatures) it makes perfect sense - it's truly one of the most tragic films ever made, a failed and jilted actress fantasising a better life before blowing her brains out in a seedy motel. If you have spare dough the Lynch autobigraphy by (I think) Greg Dark is fantastic with the chapter on MD a real stand out.

Inland Empire hinges on the Buddhist belief in karmic recurrence but I'm still grappling with that one to be honest. What an ending though, Lynchs greatest hits - one for the fans.

Fire Walk With Me is one of my top 5 all time movies, it's sensational.

Episode 14 of Twin Peaks is the most harrowing thing Lynch has ever done - beware.

No director has given me the pleasure that DL has, he is The Man.

I envy you. I wish I could sit down to see it for the very first time. A classic and my all time favourite series.

Both seasons are coming soon on blu, on region A. I'm hanging for a rewatch, but I'll wait for the blu release.

From 'thedigitalbits' website:

Finally, while we’re talking CBS… we’ve had additional confirmation that the company is working to bring more catalog TV series to Blu-ray, following the success of Star Trek: The Original Series and The Next Generation, including David Lynch’s Twin Peaks. More on that in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned…

Except with regards to Dawn of the Dead

Hopefully it is still there, and you'll enjoy your journey into the world of Twin Peaks!

I'll stay out of that controversy, thank you.

David Lynch has been sorely missed on the big screen in the last decade. Maybe the new TWIN PEAKS will make up for some of that lost time. He's directed all the new episodes.

Believe me,I've tried.
On VHS I used to own
ERASERHEAD
LOST HIGHWAY
BLUE VELVET
and
MULLHOLLAND DRIVE on DVD
But I could never last beyond 20-30 minutes.
A very acquired taste IMO.
Having watched and loved Twin Peaks,I thought it was time to re-evaluate Lynchs' output.
Started with Lost Highway and Blue Velvet last weekend.
Loved both!

Mullholland Drive,Dune and Eraserhead this weekend!
