What's everyone's opinion on Monsieur Rollin? He seems to exist in some gray area which binds arthouse, softcore porn and exploitation coherently unlike many other European directors, whilst having a dreamlike style of his own. He's also alot more consistent than Jess Franco (whom i'm also a huge fan of) who has probably made more stinkers than classics.

Grapes of Death, Lips of Blood and Fascination are probably my favourites.

Im a massive Franco fan but i'm not that keen on Rollin.

Fascination, Lips of Blood and The Naked Vampire are good but the rest put me to sleep.

Not a fan of his Vamp flicks.

But i can certainly recommend the excellent "Living Dead Girl" and "Grapes of Death" is a good watch too.

The Living Dead Girl and Grapes of Death are probably the best of his that I've seen. Both have a very sombre, brooding atmosphere - Euro-horror at its finest. I did quite like Lips of Blood though, I thought that was very good too.

And *ahem* I have a certain fondness for Zombie Lake too.

I really liked Fascination and The Living Dead Girl and one of his vampire flicks (it was either "Requiem..." or "Frissons...", not sure which!), but other vampire flicks of his are somewhat akin to watching all ready dried paint just in case it gets any drier.

Never seen Zombie Lake.

I do like a lot of Rollin's work; Zombie Lake also withstanding, as for me it fits into the category of 'it's so bad it's good'.

Some of my Rollin favourites are:

- Fascination
- Grapes of Death
- Lips of Blood
- The Living Dead Girl
- Night of the Hunted
- Requiem for a Vampire

Has anyone seen Rollin's more XXX material by any chance? I notice that his Schoolgirl Hitch Hikers is getting a release early next year by Jezebel (one of Salvation's labels), and wondered if anyone had seen it, or any others for that matter?
