From my memories of seeing it at the cinema, I seem to recall that scene being there as it does sound familiar, but I can't find anything on the Internet about the film being cut.

'The Hateful 8' has been passed 18 uncut for UK cinemas

However, speaking in Variety Magazine, Tarantino has confirmed that two versions of the film exist. He said:

"The roadshow version has an overture and an intermission, and it will be three hours, two minutes. The multiplex version is about six minutes shorter, not counting the intermission time, which is about 12 minutes.

But I actually changed the cutting slightly for a couple of the multiplex scenes because it's not that. [...] The sequences in question play in "big, long, cool, unblinking takes" in the 70mm version [...] It was awesome in the bigness of 70, but sitting on your couch, maybe it's not so awesome. So I cut it up a little bit. It's a little less precious about itself."

I saw the Roadshow Version of THE HATEFUL EIGHT. Sad to say, this one sorta disappointed me. Don't get me wrong, I like everything QT does, but this was his first film that had me looking at my watch, and being very aware of the movie's runtime.

I'm not a big JACKIE BROWN fan, but even that one didn't bore me. I did find myself getting a little antsy, though, during THE HATEFUL EIGHT.

12 - Four Rooms (2.5/5)
11 - Death Proof (3/5)
10 - From Dusk Till Dawn (3.5/5)
9 - The Hateful Eight (3.5/5)
8 - Kill Bill Vol. 2 (3.5/5)
7 - Kill Bill Vol. 1 (3.5/5)
6 - Django Unchained (4/5)
5 - Inglorious Basterds (4/5)
4 - Pulp Fiction (4/5)
3 - Jackie Brown (4/5)
2 - True Romance (4.5/5)
1 - Reservoir Dogs (4.5/5)

Didn't include Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers. Much as I like it, my understanding is that the script was heavily re-written. What impresses me most about Tarantino is that he became a strong, visual director with actual camera moves. His style of directing has improved over the years. I was a bit disappointed with The Hateful Eight - I felt that it was overlong and I couldn't see the advantage of shooting with 70mm film as the majority of the movie took place in a fairly cramped interior. I feel like the only real 'turkey' was Four Rooms (bar the Rodriguez segment, it was pretty damn poor imo). Does anyone know what film, Tarantino is planning next? I'm hoping that it won't be yet another western.

According to an interview in The Guardian in November '16:

"“I do have an idea for an Australian film that would take place in the 30s. It would be a Bonnie and Clyde-ish sort of story set with a couple of outlaws in Australia. We’ll see whatever happens.”"
