In all seriousness, Cannes is exactly the type of film festival which would give someone like Russ Meyer a Lifetime Achievement Award or something like that.

In that case, it's a shame it didn't happen!

I kinda have some mixed feelings about his films, I love that his enthusiasm and playfulness comes across in his work, but he does tend to over indulge himself at times.

And if people track down some of the original films he pays homage/tribute to, that's a good thing in my mind.

I recall him saying that his (Homage to City of the Living Dead ) buried alive scene in Kill Bill was even better..could you imagine if Fulci had 2 mins of blackness on the screen in 1980!

Thinking of picking up various films that QT's done commentaries for and was wondering if anyone can help add to the list. I know he did them for both Hostel films and also for the Region 1 version of Hot Fuzz but are there any others?

Yeah, on this R1 edition:

Apparently the commentary is less to do with the film itself and more just him and Edgar Wright talking about 70's cop films, which to be honest sounds even more awesome!

I actually agree with you on that one!
I wasn't that impressed with Hot Fuzz, I would really like to hear that audio commentary though. Probably will pick myself up a copy some time.
Thanks for making me aware of this!

[By the way, How long until you will be posting those DVDs?]
