I didn't think it was that bad, it's textbook definition of mediocrity but its not the terrible film bit was made out to be.

Apart from the mediocre script, Tracy Morgan really grates in this film. I like him in 30 Rock though.

The script was on the Blacklist (Hollywood's list of top unmade scripts) for a couple of years - it was supposed to be awesome - it clear that something was lost in translation, probably due to Willis's behaviour during filming.

What does Tarantino consider to be his worst film?

Don't think there will be much argument about that!

Before I click on that link I'm gonna hazard a guess at Death Proof!

I thought Death Proof was enjoyable enough, for me Kill Bill 2 was a huge disappointment. For what it's worth I always watch Grindhouse rather than Death Proof. I wonder is QT a little bitter that Drive is a far superior and on the nose homage to 70's Cinema than Death Proof - QT was rather unkind to Refn's great film...

Yeah didn't he list it under 'nice try' in his 2011 films of the year list or something like that? Must say, I've found every Tarantino film to date more than watchable, even Death Proof (from the first kill onwards) . . .

I think he's talking shite and is only saying that due to the way it was received. Admittedly Kill Bill was a better homage to the whole Grindhouse scene but I absolutely love Death Proof and even though its not my favourite film of his it's the one I watch the most. Best soundtrack too.

Death Proof is easily his worst film but I don't think he was responding to box office receipts as Jackie Brown didn't fare too well in that respect either but is, in my opinion anyway, his best film.

As Wes said, Kill Bill Volume 2 was a bit of a snooze-fest and far from his best, but it's still better than his Grindhouse instalment.

I meant critically more than financially in terms of how it was received.

I agree with Rik though, I can't imagine him topping Pulp Fiction.

Always preferred reservoir dogs to pulp fiction. A bit rough around the edges and certainly not as polished as pulp but I like that. On the whole I think he's been consistent, even the lesser death proof is enjoyable.
