I love the "grindhouse effects", especially in Rodriguez' Planet Terror. The missing reel, scratches, noises - it all makes the movie look older than it is, which is a good thing for flicks that replicate 70's Grindhouse atmosphere!

I reckon.
Planet Terror and Death Proof are both excellent - I couldn't pick a favourite at the moment. Machete was slightly less impressive, but it's still a fine movie.

Greetings!

I think 'Planet Terror' and 'Hobo with a Shotgun' are the very best of the current crop of new grindhouse films. I really enjoyed 'Machete' but it lacks the authenticity of a real grindhouse flick. It's a far too polished production to look and feel like proper grindhouse. ‘Death Proof’ was good too but it just could have done without some of the more pointless dialogue scenes that led nowhere.

Wow!!

Sin City A Dame to Kill For has absolutely tanked at the US box office. Taking only $6.5m in it's opening weekend.

Weekend Box Office Results for August 22-24, 2014 - Box Office Mojo

Clearly America only likes children's comic book movies.

From looking at the trailer, I am not surprised...it looks awful. He should stick to making kids films, this where he excels rather than his adult films which look like a child's idea of exploitation.
