Never bothered to get the more official 88 release as I didn't think the 23rd Century disc was too bad at all. Decent enough picture quality. Looks okay on a 42" screen.

The Scorpion With Two Tails (1982)

Archaeological caper.
With that title the demon settled in for giallo style high jinks, what I got was akin more to The Visitor or Manhattan Baby.
Stampede for the doors all you like, they are locked dear Labbers

I digress.
John Saxon pokes about in the countryside, hoping to up his ante in his particular field, no pun intended ahem, sadly for him his psychic wife is getting those ... Etruscan dreams again ... none of which helps us find the other plot thread, that's for you all to enjoy on your own
Ahem. Whilst the presentation of this film is slightly low key, a rather familiar score from Frizzi will ease the path to enlightenment.
Recommended.
Is it on BD? If so, I wants it now

Isn't that the film that was basically a tv series cut down to movie length or something?

It was scripted and shot as an 8 episode series, then sold as a 2 episode miniseries, but it was never aired. It was then re-edited to around 100 mins and released in cinemas.

And yes it’s on Blu-ray it came out earlier in the year but I forget which label, possibly Full Moon?

I almost bought the dvd back in the day from Mya Entertainment (Remember them?) but the reviews said the image quality was typical Mya quality. Ie - crap.

I've never seen it myself, but Martino doesn't seem to think I should bother, he said something like the film added nothing to his career, neither artistically or financially

Saw this on blu-ray forum;

Quote:
The transfer looks pretty lackluster, obviously originally coming from a worn film print. Very soft with little fine detail to be seen, looking more like a DVD upconvert than any kind of true filmic HD source. Macroblocking and compression artifacts are at times severe. I saw "jaggies" at various times, giving further creedence to it simply being an SD upconversion.

The English audio tracks are the standard "lossy" 2.0 or 5.1 upmix, which are always standard practice on FM Blu-ray releases.
