I've got a decent German blu-ray of Mother of Tears by Koch Media but unfortunately it's been out of print for some years. There's also a French bd but the trouble with that option is that there's forced subtitles on the English track. I think it also got a Japanese release?

Dario Argento is currently shooting a new movie right now - Occhiali Neri (Black Glasses). Interestingly this was supposed to be the next film after Sleepless but a film company went bankrupt and the script was held up in rights limbo afterwards.

My understanding (could be wrong) is that Black Glasses is being shot in Italian language. Perhaps that might make it difficult to later find a decent blu-ray as obviously you'd need English subtitles?

Be even harder for me as I can only play region b discs. Hopefully I'll get lucky.

If anyone is interested Amazon have Dario Argento's autobiography from last year for a tenner delivered in hardback.

I don't know if it's any good as i haven't read it but i do own a signed copy if that's any sort of recommendation.

Argento is said to have finished shooting his Black Glasses film. The shooting time was just around 30 days and was apparently on a VERY low budget.

I'm not expecting miracles just something hopefully close to a project such as Do You Like Hitchcock. I don't think it's getting released until 2022 but earlier would be nice.

The second half of the film is supposed to be an extended chase sequence in the Italian countryside. So even if I have to watch a non-English friendly disc, I should be able to get into it.

I rewatched the Dario Argento An Eye for Horror doc last night. Not seen it in years.

It was on the Anchor Bay Two Evil Eyes dvd. Looked better than the film itself. I'd totally forgotten that it only went as far as the year 2000 so was surprised early doors that Mark Kermode said the Three Mothers trilogy was yet to be completed.

Fun to hear Michael Brandon's anecdotes about Four Flies on Gray Velvet, however Asia was seemingly on her own little #Metoo thing in her interviews until she almost suddenly realised she was talking about her dad.

Always nice to listen to John Carpenter and George A Romero saying how much they appreciate his films.

Very short teaser trailer for the new Dario Argento film Occhiali Neri aka Dark Glasses:

Looks promising, would like to see a full trailer. The film premiers in Berlin later this week.

It looks pretty cool to me.

I'll pick it up no matter if it's worse than Dracula. (That film had it's charms for me anyway) i'm simply happy that Dario has been able to make another film.

Too many genre film makers no longer make films anymore (for differing reasons) - Carpenter, Craven, Landis, Lamberto Bava... so to still have one incoming from Dario is brilliant.
