I agree about Phantom which was a total mess Gax, but I thought Phenomena & Opera were probably his last two really good films.

I'd say Tenebre is my personal favourite Argento film, Deep Red and Suspiria joint second.

Suspiria without question although the more I watch Inferno the more I start to feel that there is a chance it could be de-throned. Once I watch Suspiria again though it sits rooted at the top. Stendhal Syndrome is a film I really enjoy. I watched the BU disc for the first time last week after the crappy - in comparison - Troma release and it's like watching a new film. Asia Argento is always watchable as far as I'm concerned, even at her worst, and here she gives one of her better performances. She's great in Trauma and I really cared about her character, but here she's even more mysterious and really gets put through it. Dario has always had a fetish for bloody mouths and certain scenes in Stendhal are typical Argento in this regard. Very brutal and beautiful at times. It's a lot slower in pace than many of his greats, but like Trauma his character studies are at times very involving. The trick Tenebre style ending though is not as much of a shock this time around. I know Cloud thinks it's boring - WHAT!!! - and reaper doesn't have time for it either, but it for me shows that Dario likes to experiment in ways that divide fans that's for sure. One thing with Argento. Love or hate a film there's always plenty to discuss. Argento will forever be a talking point.

Stendhal Syndrome is a film I didn't like when I first watched it, but I recently watched the recent Blu-ray and I have to say it's much, much better than I remembered. Good film!

Mother Of Tears has some great gore in it, and also the Mother Of Tears herself is probably one of the best looking women I have ever seen in any film... so not all that bad!

Profundo Rosso is still my very favourite.

I find it difficult to choose between "Deep Red", "Suspiria" and "Tenembre". Damn. How predicatable.
