My Fulci faves are Zombie Flesh Eaters, City of the Living Dead, The Beyond and The New York Ripper. My first encounter with a Fulci flick was through renting out the strong uncut Vipco pre-cert of ZFE.From there on in I was hooked on Fulci's horror movies.Next up was the Inter-Light VHS of COTLD, which together with ZFE, I rented out umpteen times.I just couldn't get enough of that unique atmosphere Fulci created for his golden era horror films. That and Fabio Frizzi's wonderfully evocative scores, and, of course, the lingering shots of gruesome gore and decaying, maggot-filled zombies.

I don`t know if this has been posted before, but here is a rare interview with him: Lucio Fulci interview I think it was interesting to read. I am suprised he hated The Shining. |

Looking at the poll, Fulci has made a lot of good films, many more than he is usually given credit for.

Even though those crosses have certificates of authenticity and lifetime money back guarantees from the seller, I'd still suspect I was buying some old rubbish knocked up by a bloke in his backyard.

Its highly unlikely any props still exist as they were shipped from film to film in those days, and would almost certainly get more and more damaged as the years passed.

i voted for City of the Living Dead...ace movie with Zombie Flesh Eaters being a very close second and The Beyond being extremely close third. Lets face it Fulci is up there with the likes of Romero and Argento, his movies are timeless and will be on serious horror collectors lips for a long time to come yet. |
