There's a fair bit on snobbery over at Blu-Ray.com concerning his death. A bit of 'never cared for his movies anyway' attitude. No respect.
For me he was a truely original director, a true pervaier of the surreal.

I wouldn't recommend that one to start with. I've seen many of his films but this one confused the hell out of me.

That's because here we're all reprobates. Seriously, I think to enjoy Franco you have to be a teensy weensy bit warped.

And since we're all warped anyway, we get on.

Blu-ray.com can go **** itself for all I care. My friends are here. So there. Ner ner.

This is very sad news; I've read a lot about Jess Franco over the years.Like a couple of others here, I've never actually seen any of his films.Maybe I'll seek out a couple.Even if I don't it's still sad to hear of a director passing away who's contributed a lot to the genre over the years, and is held in high regard by the fans.

Franco's films can be bewildering if you're unfamiliar with the territory he is mapping. But once you get into his groove it all starts to make sense. Sort of.
