Im not a big fan of full frontal nudity but I quite enyoyed the Female Vampire.

I really liked the music in it which I believe someone pointed out it was also in Rollin's very good Zombie Lake. ( Was it you Angel,? or Vince.? ) Even better when watched with Oasias of the Zombies back to back.

Keep up the great reviews Peter, very enjoyable and informative , always a pleasure to read.
Glad you posted that link as i'd lost you for a short while as I do regularly read your reviews . I sometimes lose were I post myself some times.

Yeah, the music in some of his movies is really the tasty icing on the cake Not that I intended to pour out more praise over "She Killed in Ecstasy", but that flick's score got me really swinging.

I don't like Female Vampire, for a Franco film it's really boring. I just can't get on with it.

I watched Jack The Ripper last night and quite enjoyed it, my only problem is that it was a bit slow and I'm probably the minority but I thought Klaus Kinski was really dull in the lead role...

Essential Franco;

A Virgin Among The Living Dead
Oasis Of The Zombies
The Awful Dr. Orlof
Love Letters Of A Portuguese Nun
Bloody Moon
Devil Hunter
Bloody Judge
Dr. Orloff's Monster
The Sadistic Baron Von Klaus

.. to name but a few.

Its the music in Female Vampire that I love about in. Even wtiting this I can hear it playing in my head.
One thing I didn't understand about it was how nobody told her to put clothes on.

I was watching Barbed Wire Dolls last night. All I'll say is that if you get lesbian wardens going around in hotpants all day and you get to have sex with the female prisoners then I'd like to work as a prison guard . Knowing my luck I'd take the job and have those in PRISONER CELL BLOCK H offered to me instead! Knowing my ****ing luck.

So to finish what we started on the Naziploitation thread regarding "The Jess Franco, Vol. 2". I've just finished the set and here's the verdict:

Macumba Sexual - all style, no substance. Boring.

Mansion Of The Living Dead - so bad it's sort of alright if in the right mood.

Down Town - very slow but it has its moments and has a very funny scene regarding "gigglesticks".

Downtown Heat - never got going in all honesty. It had potential but fell flat.

The Inconfessable Orgies Of Emmanuelle - very very boring and not erotic at all. Entertaining interview with uncle Jess on the disc though.

The Sexual Story Of O - not too bad, a bit boring but at least it had a bit of plot. Again, another good interview with uncle Jess on the disc.

Overall? Pretty poor and the bottom of the Franco barrell. One for completists only.
