Check out Franco's Venus in Furs. It's groovy. Fantastic locations, funky music, and an excellent mystery to boot. It's a near perfect Euro classic.

Ive seen bits of them and read all what films are about and people reviews and read what people post etc, then u do get the drift i mean if u never heard off a film then read upon it then you do get the drift if its a love story musical comedy horror gore (what type of gore film) sadistic etc etc ....ive read and seen enough clips and reviews to understand what type of films they are and if you google or wikipedia certain directors then they tend to state what type of style of film they make...

I have no qualms with nudity sex etc hence last house on left, i spit on your grave, etc, but when the films are mainly featured around nudity and not much else then i lose interest, get bored etc, or find the film has no real redeaming features like plot story etc...
Yes maybe some of his films have that and yes i could be missing some good films but if any of there films do have plots story gore etc without the constant stream of no offering but nudity then fire away the titles and ill search them out and give them a try

Hmmm. There is nothing quite like sitting through them though imho.

If realy wanted to watch a film with loads of nudity and no plot then id stcik a porn film on at least get more enjoyment than some of the crap thats made these days ...might only be for 5 10 minutes but at least i know ive got some satifaction by the end of it

as matter of fact a few film directors films ive never seen there style doesnt appeal to me,

Until you've sat and watched a film in its entirety, you can't possibly know whether you will like it or not. Watching the odd clip of a film, here and there, can only provide you with a glimpse of a particular scene; and will lack the overall feeling, atmosphere or sense of time or location that the full piece of work would provide.

I can tell you for a fact that if you were to watch the odd scene from a film like A Virgin Among the Living Dead, it could not for a moment convey the wonderfully surreal and dreamlike atmosphere of a film that, I would imagine, is loved by most fans of Jess Franco's work.

I imagine that I would hate Snakes on a Plane; but unless I actually watch it, I could never say for certain.

I've always prefered Joe D'Amato and Jean Rollin to Jess Franco tbh.
Having said that, Bloody Moon is well worth a watch.

Just think of nudity as acting without clothes on, if that makes it more palatable.

I have to echo other people's comments. Franco's films are dreamlike and surreal. Yes, there's often nudity, but it's placed in such an odd way it just adds to the surrealism. It's not traditional nudity, as in sex scenes. Quite often people just pop up with no clothes on, there's no sex and they contribute dialogue. It's quite strange but give Franco's films a flavour quite unlike that of any other director, except for perhaps Rollin. In fact, I think Franco's films deal more in subversiveness and sexual tension than outright erotica. There's a definite philosophy behind what Franco does.

My favorite quotation about Franco films: "Watching them is like panning for gold in Alaska. You get this one perfect tiny nugget of gold, but lose 3 fingers to frostbite."

To which I add: To understand Franco, you have to become Franco. To become Franco, you have to watch a lot of Franco. Or something like that.

99 WOMEN and EUGENIE with Maria Rohm, for example, have the same underlying narrative. But you have to look behind the screen when you watch.
