I did hear a rumour...... and hope that is what it stays, but nothing surprises me any more.

Having not heard anything about it for ages now I assumed it was just dead in the water, like a lot of other remakes that were mooted but never came into fruition (Don't Look Now, The Birds, Romero's Deep Red). It's a really strange choice for a remake though, being a film where aesthetics and design are more important than plot and performance.

Does anyone else remember reading about how Natalie Portman was interested in playing the lead? Seems note-worthy considering her role in Black Swan.

Interesting that Fox put out an official commercial for Black Swan using Goblin's music from Suspiria. Saw it air the other day.

Im not a massive fan of Black Swan but if the actual movie had been anything like that, then I think my opinion might be slightly different.

This has been mooted for years. The Weinsteins announced their involvement in around 2004. Natalie Portman was attached as star and producer and David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) was rumoured to direct but there's been no news for ages now. I can't imagine NP being involved as an actress having just done Black Swan. I imagine she took the BS gig because of Suspiria stalling.

They should leave it alone anyway.
