I've asked Shameless whether it's too late to put anything on the disc or packaging to make this release a 'tribute' to David Hess.

I hope so, I wouldn't complain if it meant pushing the release back a few weeks.

I own the Shriek Show, Italian, AWE and EC DVDs and have the Shameless release pre-ordered strictly for the tantalising extras only.

Me too and the 'Tree Skull' artwork should've got a look in imo.

Yeah, i could also live with a delayed release if it meant adorning the DVD with some mark of respect for Hess in one form or another.

100 % agreed!

Anything else would have the feel of a missed chance.

I totally agree. David Hess was one of the few real Horror icons, so it would only do justice to his legacy if the Shameless release of House on the Edge of the Park was pushed back a few weeks, turning SHAM034 into some kind of "Commemorative Edition".

Greetings!

It's good to know so many of you like the idea of this release reflecting David Hess' passing, so I'll make Shameless aware of your comments and see what happens.

I have discussed this with Shameless but, unfortunately, the retail discs and cases were already produced before news of David's sad passing broke.

This means that Shameless are unable to retrospectively make this into a commemorative edition, regardless of how much they would like to.

Instead, Shameless and Ruggero Deodato have been good enough to give statements to Kyle giving their memories of David, as well as a clip from a video interview with David discussing his philosophies on film and life. Kyle has put this together into a moving tribute to David Hess which can be found over on our blog.
