How about a commemorative slip-case? This could still be done now, as it would not affect the fact that discs and cases have already been produced, and it wouldn't be too expensive (at least that's what I'd guess).

It's just an idea, but maybe....?!

Unfortunately the discs had not only been produced but had been shipped to retailers so there's no way Shameless could do this.

On my review copy, there's a PDF introduction to polizzioteschi. Was that left off of ALMOST HUMAN or just an added bonus for this disc?

I liked the isolated score track, the BBFC lecture was fascinating, as was Hess' analysis of his character and the story (I'll have to check the Shriek Show disc again because I don't remember his comments being so analytical back then).

Unless your on a huge label like Amy Whinehouse or Michael Jackson was, it costs alot to release a tribute cd/dvd straight away. Sometimes when tributes are released there done to quick in the spare of the moment and end up looking wrong even when there done for the right reasons. I think it would have been great to have a HOTEOTP SE tribute case to Hess but understand fully why Shameless can't. But to me I think the film in itself is a great tribute to the man.

But that's not to say they won't or can't in future. Perhaps on the anniversary of his death, when everyone is less in shock and focused to sit and properly think, okay what would be really speical to mark Hess's life. Perhaps if Shameless release another of his films and dedicate the extras soley to him.

My copy came yesterday and although i don't like either of the covers, the extras do sound most tantalising. I like the still of Hess clenching his teeth too!

Zavvi dispatched my copy yesterday as well. I'll try and watch my review disc this weekend to get my review written and online as soon as possible.
