- Hi, thank you for the support, it's very difficult after a number of things, i lost both my parents in quick succession, my mother 2 months before my wedding & one of my brothers commited suicide.
My wife is supportive but not always sure what to say. If I need to talk i'll pm you, its nice to know i can open up a bit. Thanks, really. - I said I was in a "similar position", we-ell, yes and no; I had a car crash in 1990 which ended with me being medically discharged from the Royal Navy (I was a submariner), in 1991 my father and two surviving Grandparents died within three months. The nightmares and depression drove me to drink and I took an overdose! I couldn't sleep because of fear and pain and the Dr. wouldn't prescribe sleeping tablets or high strength painkillers because of my history. Eventually I got another job and a house but after a series of heart attacks I lost the job and my house has started to fall into disrepair (hence the stressed out wife) and the nightmares came back worse than ever. I got help and I try to keep busy but I still have bad moments.
Right, now you know what's what at my end, you can make your mind up to accept my friendship and help, or not. Both options are fine, no pressure... - I mean it, mate, you talk, I'll listen, simple Any way you'd like. I am not judgemental, it's not my way and I won't tell you what to do; if you want advice I'll give it and try to make sure it's the correct advice but, at the end it's all your choice.
If you don't want anything, that's okay too.
