I think if the cut version is a theatrical cut or uses alternate shots/takes it should definitely be preserved and is worth having. Cut for home video? Pointless to preserve

It won't be an April Fool. It's not even remotely amusing if it is a joke. It will ruin so many lives, i'd expect Blu-Ray.com to lose half it's membership if it was a joke. ;)
