Is it a good album Inspector? I've only heard a couple off it. Is it chilled ala Californication or the funk rock of old?

So do i. Although Under the Bridge is my fave song by them (Hmm! top 10 impending methinks) but then that was more like their newer stuff than it was the rest of BloodSugarSexMagic.

There are a number of songs that either mention or are about Alice. These include (but are not limited to):
  • EXTREME - On the album 'Pornographitti', there is a song called 'When I'm President. It is a rock song with rapped lyrics. After the guitar solo, there is an interchange between the singer and the guitarist

    Singer: "Go ask Alice."
    Guitarist: "What did he say?"
Singer: "Remember, I want to be elected."
  • THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS - The album 'John Henry' contains a song called 'Why Must I be Sad', which is sung from the perspective of a kid who hears all of his unspoken sadness given voice in the music of Alice Cooper. There are a lot of song titles in it:

    No More Mr. Nice Guy
    I Love The Dead

    I've Been thinking about it
Now I understand what he said
    Ask Me now
I understand the words that Alice said
I kick the rocks beneath me
I squint at the sunset sad sad sad
    Why must I be sad?
The rows of dandelions growing all around me
    Why must I be sad?

No one knows these things but me and him
so I'm writing everything down in a spiral notebook
in the hopes that one day
other people will feel as low as this
    Welcome to my Nightmare
    Dead Babies
    Raped and Freezin'
    You Drive Me Nervous
    Elected
    Generation Landslide
    Under My Wheels
    Muscle of Love
    School's Out
    Only Women Bleed
    Billion Dollar Babies
  • DANGEROUS TOYS - 'Scared'. The album, 'Dangerous Toys', actually carries the credit "...dedicated to Alice Cooper". The references are very subtle, and maybe you need to be a fan to actually get them!

Who is the man in the white vest?
I'm getting nervous, becoming a mess
Is he the doctor's man to take me away?
Or the same damn demon from yesterday?
    Waking up is virtually impossible
Something in this story won't let me go
You know I'm shaking and I'm feeling sick
Guess I'm gonna need a vodka quick
Momma's lace and whiskey on the top shelf
Somehow they got caught up in my dream
Monsters on my right and cobwebs on my left
Scary man standin' right in front of me
Hey man, I think I like being scared
An' I wish you all were there Tomorrow, if I get my strength
I'll put my daddy's gun to use
I hate it, I hate it feels like I'm drowning
The man's tied me up and I think he's frowning
Black widow is his favorite bite
Why does the creature cling so tight
Makes her crawl on my face and neck
God, the man drives me a nervous wreck
Why am I starting to like this?
You know he hasn't hurt me yet
But it's different now, just a whim
    Maybe I'm becoming his pet
Hey man, I think I like being scared
An' I wish you all were there
Man I really, really think, really think that I think
    I like being scared

Other things to mention include:
  • The Scorpions - 'Speedy's Coming'
"Do you like Alice Cooper, do you like Ringo Star"
  • Wednesday 13 - 'Something This Way Comes'
"Alice Cooper and G.I Joe, taught me everything I need to know
And when I hear 'HEY-HO', I scream 'LET'S GO', Baby.
There's something wicked, there's something wicked"
  • Rob Zombie - 'Get Your Boots On! That's The End Of Rock And Roll'
    "Well, Frank said to Alice
"Don't tell anybody that you didn't kill the chicken"
Let the illusion in Toronto survive
And live beyond what is always written"
  • Dr Hook - 'Everybody's Making It Big But Me' features the lines
"Well I hear that Alice Cooper's got a foxy chick
To wipe off his snake, and keep him rich"
  • The Royal Court Of China - 'Geared & Primed'
"I had a vision, I was Alice Cooper"
  • THE WHO - Put The Money Down
"Before I walk on the water,
Put the money down, down, down,
    There are bands killing chickens,
My hero's getting pushed around, 'round, 'round"
  • Udo Jürgens song 'Er oder sie' (sang in German):

'Jeder Mensch ist er oder sie
Doch bei manchen weiß man das nie
    Draus wird oft ein Star
    Alice Cooper, David Bowie
Sind die zwei nun er oder sie
    Das ist keinem klar.'

    which roughly translates to

'Every human being is a he or a she
but with some you never know
    those often become stars.
    Alice Cooper, David Bowie
are these two a he or a she?
    No one knows.'

dr alice

Well for one thing I do not think he is a registered Dr of medicine, secondly who would want a Dr with a hook, apart from Abu Hamza that is.This lyric sounds like the good Dr is having a dig at old Alice to me. Perhaps if he spent more time studying and less time writing songs he would of qualified by now,i shall be writing to the BMA to complain.

You are so wide of the mark, it's lucky I didn't suggest that the Elton John song 'All The Girls Love Alice'* was about Ms. Cooper - God knows what you would have made of that!!!

* 'All The Girls Love Alice' is nothing to do with Alice Cooper. Instead, it's exactly what is suggested by the title - a lesbian love song

From the Nights With Alice Cooper FB Page:

"TWO days until the debut of "Paranoiac Personality" on Nights with Alice Cooper! So, as a little tease, we're gonna give you the first words to Alice's brand-new song! Here's how the lyrics begin.... can you guess what's next?!

"... everybody's got something hiding....""
