Very nice. Be aware, tho, that there were two versions of the calendar, depending on what countries release you have

The original release (November '71 in America and February '72 in the UK, Germany, Japan and New Zealand) feature a calendar for 1972, while the releases for Argentina and Uruguay, released later, contain one for 1973

Also be aware that this feature was only included with the first pressings of of the record. 2nd pressings and subsequent reissues did not contain it

Again, this is first edition only - November '73 in America and Canada, January '74 in the UK, Argentina, Australia and Japan

Finally!!!

A Japanese site has got a listing for a DVD release of the 1975 television special 'The Nightmare' - CDJapan : Welcome To My Nightmare Special Edition Alice Cooper DVD

It would appear that the DVD features both the TV show and also the previously released concert film 'Welcome To My Nightmare'

Release date is noted as being August 30th, and although nothing is listed on Amazon, I would imagine this will get a region 2 release at some point

It's got a BBFC logo on the cover so it'll be available in the UK, otherwise it'd only have the Irish logo on there.

Looking forward to getting this one.

It's well worth seeing

'The Nightmare' is not a concert film. Instead it is a proper narrative feature that highlights the songs on the 'Welcome To My Nightmare' album

Alice play Steven, who is trapped in a nightmare that he is unable to wake up from, and his attempts to escape. Vincent Price also appears as the "Spirit of the Nightmare"

The original broadcast in 1976 won an Emmy for 'Outstanding Achievement in Video Tape Editing for a Special' and it was nominated for a Grammy for Best Video Album in when the video was released in 1984. [It lost to Duran Duran]

Track listing:

"Welcome to My Nightmare"
"Devil's Food"
"Some Folks"
"Only Women Bleed"
"Cold Ethyl"
"The Black Widow"
"Years Ago"
"Department of Youth"
"Years Ago (reprise)"
"Steven"
"The Awakening"
"Ballad of Dwight Fry"
"Escape"
"The Awakening (reprise)"

Would Iron Maiden have the Eddie stage prop without Alice?

The Cyclops at Heathrow in 1975

and on stage in Florida, three years later on the 1978 'Schools Out For Summer' tour

Maiden with Eddie in 1980

and on stage, three years later for the 1983 'World Piece Tour'

I don't think they got the idea from Alice, from what I gather the idea for the giant onstage Eddie came from old Fan Club runner Keith Wilfort, who saw some giants at a carnival and suggested the idea to Rod and the band in 1981.
The first onstage Eddie that wasn't just someone in a leather jacket and mask was on the Beast on the Road tour in 1982

Plus, Eddie is way cooler than a cyclops

*slight bias because I'm a diehard Maiden fan

Edit: just checked, it wasn't Keith Wilfort, it was their old lighting engineer Dave 'Lights' Beasley who suggested it after seeing a pantomime version of Jack and the Beanstalk, point still remains though

You can definitely see how Maiden ripped off the cyclops for their early shows.

A papier-mache head in the back drop.

If i were Alice i'd definitely sue.

Just kidding. There's not an awful lot of resemblance is there?

I think the closest they've ever gotten to ripping him off would be Bruce's final gig in 1993, with Horror magician Simon Drake, released as Raising Hell
