But seriously I really appreciate the interest so far
Not been on CL for a while. This is a great idea for a thread. I've been into Black Metal and Death Metal since I was first bitten in '92 and like many old geezers have tended to stick to what I know and love from the early eighties to around about the mid nineties....sure there's later releases from older bands I've picked up in the new millennium but I have very little exposure to new bands nowadays so this could be a valuable resource - thanks :-)

Not strictly Black Metal but here's an all time favourite of mine:

One of my first BM albums. Damn they nailed it with this!

I just found a pile of old tour t-shirts I had stashed at my folk's house. They include Deicide, Nocturnus, Sadus, Obituary, Confessor etc, etc.

Nordi, if you had to recommend THE black metal album that I had to go out and buy today, what would it be? I'm more on the melodic/technical side of the fence.

That makes two of us, bud. I was going to say great minds think alike, but where would you fit into that statement? seriously though, I've been listening to a lot of Motown, funk and early hip-hop recently and I could do with hearing something nice 'n' heavy.
