Dark Funeral - Shadows Over Transylvania (Unisound Version) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY-_iWQvxms The Secrets of the Black Arts (1996) The album was originally recorded at Unisound studios with a producer with limited knowledge of his craft. In 2007 it was remastered and remixed and eventually released on cd as a bonus disc on the special edition of The Secret of the Black Arts. in 2013. The album itself was re-recorded in June 1995 at Abyss Studios with soon to be legendary producer Peter Tagtgren. It was his first producing job other than his own band Hypocrisy. |
I've never actually listened to a Dark Funeral album... |

They are fairly Satanic with some members being Satanists from the LaVey school. Despite having been recording since 96 they have only released six albums and a couple of ep's. I first bought one of their's because the cover smelled of leather - 2001's Diabolis Interium. Incidentally the limited edition cd of Cathedral's Garden of Unearthly Delights smells of apples. |
I'm listening to the above album right now and I like it. I can see why I probably never listened to them back in the day. Aside from Immortal I avoided bands with really fast drums, I preferred the more mid paced bands. I must have heard one of their songs on a compilation and just never bought one of their CDs. There are probably quite a few 'big' bands I've not heard for various reason, for example, although I know about the controversy I've never listened to Gorgoroth, also the only Dimmu album I've ever listened to is StormblÄst!! |
Oh add Marduk to that too, never listened to even one song  |

I didn't realise it had been remastered. The opening title track rips your head off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYVbEqMP5Z4 Panzer Division Marduk (1999) |
