Also rewatched the Residents doc/tourfilm The Theory Of Obscurity in slight tribute to member Randy Fox's passing on Halloween.

I have 2 Sigur Ros DVDs and if this is the one I’m thinking of it’s a tour documentary and really good. It’s not a normal tour, it’s a tour of remote Icelandic villages!

I keep meaning to rewatch it recently. Let me know how you get on with it!

Related, check out a Doc called Screaming Masterpiece which is a spotlight on the Icelandic music scene, going from teenage Bjork in a punk band to the early 2000’s ( I think) when the film was made. Not sure if it can be picked up cheaply but probably can!

I've rewatched volumes II and III of the Beautiful Voices compilation dvd / cd's these last two nights.

As well as the regulars like Nightwish, Leaves Eyes and Lacuna Coil there have been some impressive oddities on offer from bands i'd either forgotten about or never known in the first place outside of watching these discs.

The likes of Bif Naked, Autumn, Qntal and Delight have had me doing searches for albums this afternoon.

I aim to watch the first volume tonight.

Oooh, I've never heard of these compilations before. I might try and find some used copies. What year(s) did they come out Dem?

Nice, they can be had for a very reasonable price! They can be my little treat to myself

Definitely.

Ooh and Xandria. The first volume definitely got me into Xandria with the song Ravenheart.

Bought three of theirs, only gave up when they changed singers. Why do so many of these bands change singers all the time?

Bloody Sirenia never keep a singer for more than one album it seems.

I ended up watching three hours of KISS last night. Disc one of Kissology III.

I was really looking forward to seeing the Revenge tour gig, seeing as i saw them on the Revenge tour at Sheffield Motorpoint Arena back in 92. Unfortunately it didn't look quite right. The UK leg of the tour (and probably the whole European tour) had them use the stage set from Hot in the Shade which was a massive Sphinx which fired lasers and the usual pyro stuff. The one on the dvd was a Revenge inspired back drop featuring the Statue of Liberty which was probably less relevant to Euro audiences anyway.

No matter, the gig was excellent, bar Simmons mic being low in the mix.

The rest of the dvd was the Unplugged MTV gig from 1995. I've always loved the Unplugged album so to finally see the whole gig was brilliant. A highlight was the countrified version of God of Thunder as well as the six members of KISS lead by drummers Eric Singer and Peter Criss belting out Nothing to Lose.

I'm still waiting for the 4th volume to be released!

It was originally announced for 2011, but there has been no sign of it since!

I really liked it. Looking forward to watching the second disc etc. I have SM somewhere in the hoose!!!

Dug out my Roxy Music 2dvd set The Thrill Of It All which covers the original decade they were active (cough). Some wacky live footage and TOTP performances make up the bulk of it. Ferry's gurning one of many highlights.
