I agree, I hadn't listened to it, or the Manics, for ages before I found myself playing Small Black Flowers on my guitar the other week, it's a great album and because of the circumstances regarding the writing and recording in the months following Richey's disappearance (I refuse to believe suicide), it's a triumph for the band

It certainly is a massive change in sound and direction compared to the bleakness and harsh sounding Holy Bible from two years earlier!

I don't feel able to do a Motorhead one. Just too many albums and too many songs. See Kiss and Bon Jovi also.

Why not do what I do, and break it down into eras? i.e

Motorhead - The 70's, 80's, 90's etc or the Lemmy, Fast Eddie, Philfly Phil line up, with Wurzel, after Wurzel or pre Mikkey Dee and post Mikkey Dee etc

KISS - Original make-up, without make-up, return to make-up?

Bon Jovi - When they were good, when they had lost it!!

I always felt that Holy Bible was their creative pinnacle and I never really liked the change in direction after Richey.

Have you listened to Journal For Plague Lovers? All the lyrics are by Richey and the sound is more like The Holy Bible, also parts of it were done by Steve Albini, so it's got his infamous "drum sound" on certain tracks, very similar to Nirvana's In Utero. It's the last album I bought on day of release from them
