Yeah, it's hard making a Top 10 of anything.

Looking back at my list from 2009 on the first page: I'd definitely make some changes.

A re-post is definitely imminent!

This is a stupid thread.

Despite owning over 3000 cd albums, i can barely name one of them when put on the spot like this.

Just off the top of my head -

U2 - Achtung Baby
Everlast - Whitey Ford Sings the Blues
Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
Def Leppard - Hysteria
Guns n' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Marilyn Manson - Holy Wood
Sisters of Mercy - Vision Thing
Primal Scream - XTRMNTR

I need to mull this over properly.

Here's a quick go at it, obviously there are countless albums which could qualify for this list so it's not definitive. I'll refrain from including more than one album by the same band:

Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica
Mr. Bungle - California
Faith No More - Angel Dust
Bjork - Homogenic
Radiohead - OK Computer
Kate Bush - The Dreaming
Killing Joke - Night Time
The Smiths - The Smiths
Pixies - Doolittle
The Blood Brothers - Burn Piano Island Burn

Tough one this. I can't pick my Top Ten, far too many to list and it changes all the time, but he's 10 of my favourites in no particular order.
1. Electric Ladyland-Jimi Hendrix
2. The Stone Roses-The Stone Roses
3. Physical Graffiti-Led Zeppelin
4. ...and Justice For All-Metallica
5. Rage Against The Machine-Rage Against The Machine
6. Reign in Blood-Slayer
7. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son-Iron Maiden
8. In Utero-Nirvana
9. Expecting to Fly-The Bluetones
10. Burn My Eyes-Machine Head

As you can see, I listen to a wide range of styles from Thrash Metal to Indie/Alternative

This really is tough.

How do you define a top ten album?

Something you have been listening to for years?

What about any newish releases though?

The new Alice Cooper cd has been in my tray for the last month, must play it in full once every day or so. Wonder when that constitutes a classic?

If its things you listened to when you were younger, Reign in Blood say, and still play the odd time, is this a top ten album? even though you may not have listened to said cd in 18 months
